The neighboring municipality of Ondara is preparing for the celebration of the third edition of the Fira de la Paraula i la Bona Taula, a proposal that includes different initiatives: gastronomy with the Festeros del Cristo 2018 that will offer local produce and typical food of the region; the Fira de la Paraula, with local and regional publishers and writers; he Land and Craft Market, as well as animation, featured concerts and activities for children.
For its third edition, the Fira de la Paraula i la Bona Taula has counted on local collectives such as the Festeros del Cristo and the students of the Sanchis Guarner School, which will participate in the performance of the rondalla of the Grup de Danses de Pedreguer; and of the IES Xebic, whose students participate in the literary contest whose prize-giving begins the Fair.
As explained by the mayor of Ondara, José Ramiro, in the presentation, the Fira de la Paraula and la Bona Taula seeks to energize the Barrio del Cristo with a weekend full of activities and proposals for all audiences that will have its epicenter in the Plaza 9 d'Octubre and the adjacent streets.
The festeros will take care of the gastronomic part
The participation of the Crist 2018 Festeros in the III Fira of the Paraula i la Bona Taula is reflected with the typical food service of the region that will be offered throughout the fair; In addition to the bar service and popular food that will serve on Sunday at 14 hours.
The Festeros del Cristo will offer diverse and varied gastronomic proposals of quality in the street, with local and regional product. On the other hand, the Land and Handicraft Market will offer products of local commerce, agriculture, and artisans, with a score of stops.
La Fira de la Paraula in collaboration with MACMA
The Fair of the Paraula, organized with the collaboration of the Macma, will feature the exhibition of various stands; with local and regional publishers and writers.
A showcase of emerging authors and publishers will be offered, with the participation of publishers such as "Dilatando Mentes" (Ondara's editorial dedicated to the science fiction genre); "Edicions del Sud" by Manel Arcos; "Lletra Impresa", as well as other publishers and distributors of the Valencian territory.
Involvement of students
The presentation of the event will take place on Friday 11 in May at the 19: 00 hours, with the awards ceremony of the III Literary Contest of the IES Xebic at the Casa de Cultura.
As explained by the director of the IES, Sergi Lara, this activity is one of the many that are part of the plan to promote reading of the institute. You could participate in the contest with works written in English, French, Spanish or Valencian. There are four categories; 1º and 2º of ESO, 3º and 4º of ESO, Baccalaureate and Vocational Training, and Teaching staff.
The objective of the contest is to encourage the student's taste for writing, and in each category there are two modalities; Narrative or poetry. To finish the act of awarding the prizes, a student will play a piece of music at the piano.
