The Dénia hotel industry is turned off in protest at the price of electricity

Unusual image lived in Dénia on Tuesday afternoon. Some thirty catering establishments have been left without power at 19:00 p.m., when the sun has long since disappeared from the sky. But it has not been due to any failure, but rather it is a protest action against the price of electricity.

Given the "extremely serious" situation, as described by the organizers of the blackout, which is going through the majority of hospitality establishments in Spain, due to the rise in prices led by electricity and gas, the hospitality sector has carried out a symbolic blackout of the light of the hotel establishments of emblematic points of different Spanish cities. A protest to which 28 establishments of the Marina Alta, the vast majority of Dénia.

For a moment the picture has been curious, so to speak. The completely dark premises have continued to receive their customers and serve, but without a glimpse of light. However, this blackout has only lasted 5 minutes, enough to put on the table the discomfort of the sector regarding the current energy rates.
