February 22 from 2021 - 14: 59

The Generalitat has transferred to the municipalities of the coast of the Valencian Community "a message of tranquility and legal security" on current situation of Pativel, as explained this Monday by the Minister for Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility, Arcadi Spain.

Thus, the head of Territorial Policy has insisted that the residents of the municipalities on the Valencian coast affected by Pativel "they must remain calm before possible interests of third parties in these areas ".

"Thus -the Minister has continued-, an explanatory note will be sent from the Department so that municipal corporations have updated information on Pativel ", after the ruling of the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community on February 11.

"Pativel is an instrument for the protection and management of our fundamental coastline", has reflected Spain, who has recalled that the court's ruling "It does not enter into the merits of the Plan but only addresses formal issues and, therefore, it will appeal in cassation".

According to the minister, "The Plan and all the regulations it comprises remain in force and our beaches and the coastline are protected because the sentence is not final, and it will not be until the court decides on our appeal ".

"Protection and management are the basis of Pativel since, with it, our coastline, our beaches and coasts are protected, and our cultural and economic heritage is preserved", has affirmed Arcadi Spain. "By taking care of these places, our culture is fostered and the creation of quality employment is promoted".

"In addition, with regard to land use planning, Pativel allows certain activities on the coast to be carried out under a transitional regime, thereby reinforcing and guaranteeing a space for coexistence and nature on our coasts", has concluded the minister.
