The Generalitat auctions the Nazi and Francoist coins and medals of a Dénia neighbor for 50.000 euros

May 13 from 2022 - 12: 27

The Generalitat has published the sale by auction of 31 24-carat gold coins of the Austro-Hungarian crown, as well as four insignia (the Commendation of the Order of the Eagle, the Grand Cross of the Order of Civil Merit, the Cross of the Order Isabel la Católica and a University Militia lapel pin) from the inheritance of a citizen of German origin, based in Dénia, who died without a will or legal heirs and whose assets now belong to the Administration.

The starting price of these pieces in the first auction will be 50.458 euros in five different lots to facilitate offers, so that it will not be necessary for a buyer to acquire all the goods, but rather they can opt for one or more of the lots .

Specifically, the 31 gold coins have a diameter of 37 mm, a gold content of 30,49 grams of pure 24-carat gold and are dated 1915 in the Austro-Hungarian crown and will be sold in four different lots of 8, 9, 10 and 4 coins for a first auction price of 12.247; 13.778; 15.309 and 6.123 euros respectively.

The medals and badges, for their part, will be sold together for a starting price of 3.000 euros in the first auction, which includes a case with the cross of the Order of Isabella the Catholic and the enameled lapel badge of the University Militias; another case with the Commendation of the Order of the Eagle, of German origin; and a third case with the plaque of the Grand Cross of the Order of Civil Merit.

This is the first auction of movable property from an intestate inheritance to be carried out by the Generalitat. Yes, auctions of real estate (plots, houses, apartments, garages, etc.) of intestate inheritances have been carried out before, since these are usually more common in the hereditary estate. Object inheritance is usually more exceptional.

The Generalitat also inherited from this woman of German origin about 350.000 euros in current accounts, various shares that have been sold for an amount of 480.000 euros, as well as three properties in Dénia.

Auction Procedure

The auction of the coins and medals is carried out as a result of the fact that these pieces have been declared by the Generalitat as unnecessary for public service and they have not been considered of significant cultural interest either, as there are similar pieces.

People interested in participating in the auctions must provide the application and the corresponding deposit within 30 calendar days, preferably through the General Registry of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Model. You can find all the information about the documentation to be submitted on the Conselleria website: hisenda.gva.es/va/web/subastas/mobles-subhastar and ask any questions by email abis@gva.es

The auction will be held in a public act on July 14 at 11.00:9 am in the Ciutat Administrativas XNUMX d'Octubre.

251 intestate files in three years

Since the entry into force of the new Decree, approved in 2019, the processes of declaration of the Generalitat as intestate heir have gained in agility, transparency and legal certainty. "With this auction we fulfill the legal mandate to liquidate all the assets that make up the inheritance and allocate, as corresponds in the Valencian Community, two thirds to social purposes and one third to the Cultural Patronage Plan of the Generalitat", he pointed out the general director, Isa Castelló.

In this sense, the Generalitat has opened 251 files for intestate inheritance in the last three years, a figure that represents an increase of 81%, going from 75 files in 2019 to 136 in 2021.

These files are processed when a person, whose civil residence is the Valencian Community, dies without testating and without leaving legal heirs. From the moment in which the Administration becomes aware of a situation of these characteristics, a series of checks are initiated in order, if the conditions are met, to process the file for recognition of the Generalitat as heir.
