The Generalitat calls for extreme vigilance to the mayors of tourist areas

The Generalitat will urge this Wednesday the mayors of the tourist municipalities and the provincial capitals of the Valencian Community to take extreme control and surveillance measures so that the health security measures against COVID-19 are met next weekend .

This was decided at the security coordination meeting chaired this Monday by the president of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, and in which officials from the Government Delegation in the Valencian Community, from the different bodies and security forces of the State, Emergencies and Civil Protection and Police of the Generalitat, as well as the president of the Valencian Federation of Municipalities participated and Provinces, Rubén Alfaro.

During the meeting, the president thanked the armed forces and security forces for the work they have carried out throughout this period "because, thanks to their collaboration, loyalty and professionalism, these good results have been achieved".

Speaking at the end of the meeting, the Minister of Justice, Interior and Public Administration, Gabriela Bravo, has shown the Generalitat's concern about next weekend, the first without perimetration, and recalled that all visitors are welcome in the Valencian Community, "but they must comply with the rules".

Gabriela Bravo explained that the Department will urge the Valencian municipalities to convene their local security boards to coordinate with the local police, in those places where each city council foresees the need to reinforce surveillance and increase capacity controls, compliance with the sanitary measures against coronavirus.

"The action of the Local Police in coordination with the rest of the security forces is essential in this prevention and control work in order to continue advancing until COVID-19 disappears," Bravo remarked.

The head of Justice and the Interior has thanked the Valencian citizens for the good behavior they have had to date and which has allowed the Community to be the autonomy with the least accumulated incidence in recent weeks. Bravo has made special reference to young people, whom he has asked to continue behaving responsibly, especially for the weekend.

In addition to reinforcing the controls of health security measures by the different municipalities, by the different security forces and bodies, the 112 of the Valencian Community will increase the room staff to be able to meet the demand for calls that may be produced by the increased citizen mobility.
