The Generalitat asks the Ministry to apply the tolls bonus in the AP-7 between La Marina and La Safor

The Ministry of Housing, Public Works and Vertebration of the Territory has been directed to the Secretary General of Infrastructure of the Ministry of Development so that the same measures for the bonus and exemptions of tolls that are contemplated for Catalonia in the AP-7 are applied in the Comunitat Valenciana, specifically in the sections Peñíscola-Torreblanca, and in the Safor and the Marina.

Last Friday, the Council of Ministers approved two royal decrees with which the concessions of the AP-7 and AP-2 toll motorways were modified in order to establish bonus measures for large heavy goods vehicles, which should circulate through these highways instead of the national roads N-340 and N-240.

With this measure, it seeks to improve the functionality on the roads, which currently support a high truck traffic that contributes to increasing congestion and noise pollution, according to the Ministry itself.

The toll reduction measures, which are aimed at vehicles of the "Heavy 2" category, will be 50% of the toll amount for those who make internal routes and have dynamic toll or toll, and 42,53% for the rest .

At the same time, and to favor the use of the AP-7 toll road by the regular users, toll exemptions for light vehicles have been implemented in the section between Vilafranca Sur and Vinaroz / Alcanar.

Now, the councilor Maria José Salvador has raised the need to implement the same measures established for the agreement of Catalonia for vehicles between the 60 exit of Xeresa / Gandia and the 65 exit of Benidorm / la Nucia.

In these sections there is a significant traffic saturation in the crossings of the regions of La Safor and the Marina, such as Bellreguard, Palmera, l'Alquería de la Comtessa, Oliva, Gata, Benissa and Altea. In addition, road safety problems continue on the N-332 and there is also no alternative highway, which joins the absence of rail in the Marina region.
