Explained Jordi Serra, the municipality of Dénia acquired last year the concession of the old fish market of the port of Denia to make it the new tourism office, pledging to maintain and act in the building if necessary.

The Socialist councilor recalled that the council is paying 15.210 euros plus VAT per year for the concession of this building. Serrá reported that "As the promised funds of the Trust Plan are not yet available, any emergency action carried out in this space must be borne by the depleted municipal coffers, due to the high cost of treating asbestos from the roof of the old fish market".

I completely agree with you, John.
I am not from Denia, although I have spent many seasons for more than ten years. I do not know if that building has any especially sentimental value for the dianenses, but of course, it does not seem to me that it has a great architectural value (rather the opposite), and in terms of its location ..., how much more beautiful would a Diaphanous esplanade for the future continued port walk, leaving more space and much greater visual amplitude of the entire port complex, also from the Cervantes esplanade !!! With this, much beauty and harmony would be gained in all that place of expansion for pedestrians.
