The Generalitat awards a public housing for vulnerable families in Dénia

08 October 2021 - 12: 18

The Second Vice Presidency and Ministry of Housing and Bioclimatic Architecture, through l´Entitat Valenciana d'Habitatge i Sòl (EVha), has awarded 41 public housing units of the Generalitat to vulnerable families, one of them in Dénia.

The second vice president and minister of Housing and Bioclimatic Architecture, Héctor Illueca, has affirmed that the Consell's commitment is "to provide decent housing for people in need of housing and who, in many cases, are at risk of social vulnerability."

Of the 41 homes awarded in September, 26 belong to the province of Valencia (four in Carcaixent and Vallada; three in Aldaia, Alzira, Gandia and Vilamarxant; two in Alberic and Requena; and one in Canals and Paterna). Another 12 have been assigned in the province of Alicante (five in Alicante, three in Benidorm and Castalla; and one in Dénia) and another three in the province of Castellón, all of them in Moncofa.

Illueca has assured that currently there is "a social reality of risk and vulnerability that is urgent to transform" and access to decent housing helps to face this problem.

Before the award of each home, The Department carries out an inspection and repair work in those buildings that require it to meet the habitability conditions. Meanwhile, the adjudication process begins so that once the rehabilitation is finished, the family can access the apartment as quickly as possible.

Finally, it should be noted that municipal social services play a fundamental role in this adjudication process. These, together with EVha's Adjudication Unit, analyze the situation of applicants in each municipality to respond to emergency situations.
