Last Sunday, the Auditorio de Ondara hosted the nineteenth Premis Ocell gala, which this year held a new festival based on the recognition of the personalities that the members of the Ocell Cultural Association have chosen through their votes.

In this sense, the regional award was for the EMMA -School of Mathematics of the Marina Alta-. The awarded entity, integrated by 19 teachers and professors of the region, was born in 2008 with the objective of detecting, guiding and stimulating in a continuous way the outstanding mathematical talent of 12 and 13 years students.

The school is a space for fun, fellowship and, above all, a space where the students develop mathematical and social skills, enjoying. It is worth mentioning that the structure of the school is based on that of ESTALMAT of the Valencian Community, but the role of the monitors is the distinguishing feature of the EMMA. On behalf of the association, the regional award was collected by Sara Llorca, Juan Carlos Femenia and Florencio Burrel.

On the other hand, regarding the local prize, it has been granted to the philologist Olarense Veronica Zaragoza. Researcher of the BIESES research group (Bibliography of Spanish Writers), Zaragoza has a PhD in Catalan Philology from the University of Girona from 2016 and Catalan Philologist from the University of Valencia.

Then it was released on the stage ondarense montage Turn the arrels, a recommended work of the company Va Com Va Teatre that already accumulates remarkable recognitions by its defense of the oral culture and the linguistic patrimony.
