The Federation of Moors and Christians of Dénia (FEMMICC Dénia) is in luck to learn that the Generalitat Valenciana has awarded an important grant. This aid reaches the FEMMICC Dénia thanks to subsidies from the Department of Education, Culture and Sports. Nothing more and nothing less than €11.832.
This unprecedented event has become historic because it is the first time in 42 years that the Moros i Cristians festival has received a grant of this magnitude. The activities that have stood out to give this subsidy have been the Landing, the Miracle of the Fog and the Battle of Arcabucería.
The president of the Federation of Moors and Christians of Dénia, Sonia Pérez, has highlighted that “this subsidy has come thanks to a job well done in recent years. The declaration of the Moors and Christians as a Festival of Autonomous Tourist Interest, the support of institutions and companies for the festival, as well as the support of the festeros in the changes and improvements of the acts, have been some of the reasons why this help arrives in Dénia”.
"This subsidy supposes an injection of morale, of enthusiasm and makes us see that we are on the right track to consolidate this party", the president has clarified. Once again, the work of the FEMMICC Dénia board is bearing fruit, since all the documentation had to be submitted in record time in December 2021.
Sonia Pérez thanked her secretary for her efforts in this milestone: “he was the one who presented all the documentation, prepared the texts, reports, photos, videos and links to support the granting of the subsidy. He has done a great job that has now been rewarded for the benefit of all”.
On behalf of the City Council of Dénia, its councilor for Fiestas, Óscar Mengual, has insisted that he feels very happy about this grant. Likewise, he has transferred his congratulations to the federation and has praised the work carried out during these years, as well as the step forward that the party has taken in all aspects. These actions will allow to consolidate, even more so, the festival of Moors and Christians of Dénia. But, also, they will make it continue to grow more and more.
