The Serrano family donates a documentary fund of four generations to the Municipal Arxiu of Dénia

Hundreds of materials, including documents, letters, photographs, drawings, books, magazines, press clippings, posters and various objects, have become part of the Dénia Municipal Historical Archive thanks to the donation made by the Serrano family to the City Council of Dénia.

First editions of works by Gil-Albert and Miguel Hernández, from a total of 196 books donated, copies of the magazine 'New Culture' in which he collaborated with Max Aub, Manuela Ballester, Josep Renau and Gil-Albert himself, two portraits made in the prison of Alcoi after the war by the benevolent Vicent Giner, one of Serrano and another anonymous, who were recently exposed in the exhibition Dénia, war temps and repressió, 1936-1939, photographs and other documentation complete this Family Serrano fund that, from today, is integrated into the Municipal Historical Archive.

The granddaughter of Juan Serrano Pons, Elsa Álvarez Serrano, author of the donation with her brother Héctor, today signed the donation agreement of the fund, together with the mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt. They have been accompanied by Vicent Álvarez, father of Elisa and Héctor, member of the Consell Valencià de Cultura from 1995 to 2011 and creator of the collection and selection of donated material, the Councilor for Culture, Rafa Carrió, and the archivist Rosa Seser, as well as other members of the family.
