Holy Week is just around the corner, and in Dénia everything is ready for the days of religious devotion in the three parishes of the city. A few days that this year come with an important novelty: the representation of The Passion of Christ, for the first time, on the street.
And, until now, this representation was made inside the parish of San Miguel Arcángel. But next Saturday, March 24, will be held in the Plaza del Consell.
80 actors and 22 scenes
That day, at 22: 00 hours, a total of 80 actors of all ages will represent the 22 scenes of the passion and death of Jesus of Nazareth: Entry - Prayer - Proclamation, The Call, Entry into Jerusalem, The Last Supper, The washing of the feet, Institution of the Eucharist, The prayer of the garden, The arrest, The judgment of the Sanhedrin, Denials of Peter, The judgment of Pilate, The judgment of Herod, Flagellation of Jesus, Judgment of Pilate, Way to Calvary, Crucifixion, Descent from the cross, Burial and burial, Silence of the empty Cross, early Sunday, Resurrection, Shipping to evangelize.
The musical setting will feature pieces by Bach, Pachelbel, Barber, Mahler, Albinoni, Mozart, Tchaikousky and Handel.
This event is organized by the Brotherhood Jesus Nazareno and Our Lady of Sorrows and parishioners of the parish of San Miguel Arcángel de Dénia.
