The 'Mikay' boat from Marina El Portet is second in the Diana de Oro

13 July 2020 - 07: 20

The team of Sailing in Marina El Portet by Chiqui González and Yann Lythgoe has had a good role in the Diana de Oro organized by the Dénia Royal Nautical Club last Saturday. The Mikay boat was second in the overall standings and the Kim finished fifth.

Some 16 boats took the start in Dénia with a north wind of 12 knots, which increased until reaching 20 knots in the first part of the regatta. The route was about 50 nautical miles from Dénia to the rock of the Moor in Cullera and back. The wind was blowing northeast and easing in the afternoon.

The real-time winning boat was the Aquarelle 1 boat. The award ceremony was held on Saturday night at the Náutico de Dénia facilities.

It should be remembered that this is the XLIX edition of a regatta considered to be the oldest in the Mediterranean. The CD Marina el Portet Sailing Club appreciates the effort of Náutico de Dénia for having worked to make this great sporting event possible.
