12 December 2019 - 12: 41

In a solemn act before the Rector of the Miguel Hernández University and his rector body, last Tuesday, December 10, he was presented to the dianense, and Doctor of Fine Arts, Imma Mengual the UMH 2019 Teaching Talent Award. The award is part of the Docentia-UMH Program, which the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) has evaluated positively.

This award is a recognition of the work of the teacher, who for her good teaching practices, her didactic creativity and permanent commitment and responsibility with integral training, is achieving the full personal and professional development of her students.

Dr. Mengual, who last year already won the UMH Professional Competition Award, teaches both the itineraries of the Fine Arts Degree and the Master's Degree in Projects and Research in Arts, on the Campus that the Faculty of Fine Arts has in Altea. She is also a researcher belonging to the FIDEX research group, attached to that university.

In the words of the winner herself, “It is a privilege to share knowledge with the creators of the future. To the knowledge that students are acquiring with new technologies, I as a creator contribute something very valuable, the day-to-day experience on the street and above all, and that is the challenge of teaching in the s. XXI, I help you connect the knowledge acquired and foster strategic and critical thinking. To be creators, it is necessary to breathe and observe the time we live and the environment around us. We cannot create society and people with their backs because art and design are first-rate instruments to change the world and people, me first. ”

Imma Mengual combines his teaching work with the strategic design and transfer of knowledge applied to social transformation projects such as the one carried out in the Pediatric Oncology plant of the University General Hospital of Alicante, in External Pediatric Consultations in the CIS La Pedrera de Dénia or in the playground of children and primary school Cervantes de Dénia.
