The non-negotiable issue why Dénia's favorite beach will never have a Blue Flag

05 June 2022 - 08: 50

Dénia proposes a new beach to qualify for the Blue Flag
The best beaches in Dénia, according to the FEE

Dénia can boast of being one of the municipalities where more Blue Flags wave in front of the sea. In fact, they are not satisfied with the ones they have recognizing six beaches of the municipality, but they are already working to achieve a seventh in 2023. However, one of the neighbors' favorite beaches does not have the badge, and it seems that it will never be able to apply for it, since a basic requirement that is demanded of it is unacceptable.

If the forecasts are met, in the coming years almost the entire northern coast of Dénia will have the precious Blue Flag that recognizes the quality of its beaches. However, this can never happen on the south coast, considered by most residents to be the true coastal treasure. If the identification has the only option of sand, the Marineta Cassiana, But Les Rotes, the jewel in the Dianense crown, will never achieve it.

The reason for this unusual decision, taking into account the obvious quality of this section, is a request from the inspectors that the City Council considers unaffordable. Apparently, they demand the elimination of a historical element that even gives its name to one of the most popular stretches: the springboard.

An item that cannot be dispensed with

This attraction so loved by the neighbors is the object of the dispute. As long as it remains in place, it will be considered that Les Rotes beach does not meet the minimum safety parameters, so either it is withdrawn or there is no Blue Flag. And the springboard, for Dénia, is not negotiable.

It is sad to find people like Luis, Manuel and the brave “high-handed outsiders” so often (who even hides his name with that absurd and ridiculous pseudonym!!).
To live like this is to live negatively, it is to live bitter and poisoned…. Come on gentlemen! That the cosmopolitan Denia – thanks to her guiris and her foreigners who leave her money in it – brings wealth (not only material) to culture and broadens minds !!!
Do you never leave your house? And wherever they travel, are they foreigners or foreigners?
    Regards!

      Goodbye.
It is not worth explaining, in any way since this proposal is sterile, especially because it has been started by someone who, surprisingly, has nothing to do with flags or Denia.
This gentleman, this Manuel Gómez L. Egea, you can see on google that he is a manager who lives in Catalonia and teaches his work in something as open as Iese Business School…so…what are you telling me?
If almost all your clients are… from outside… as you say hahaha…. from outside….from outside of what? Alas, to buy a rod and to fish but we are all going to enjoy Denia, there is enough space. Goodbye.

    • Carmen says:

La Marineta beach in Denia will never qualify for a blue flag beach. It can only be granted a black flag, since it has been transformed into a foul-smelling dunghill, due to the storage and rotting of posidonia. It has been my beach for 20 years. Now she cries every time I get close to the jetty. Take measures and clean it all year round to avoid this deterioration. As for the trampoline, it should be a positive element for your evaluation, it is a nice relic. Thank you

  2. Overbearing outsiders. says:

All outsiders who think they have the right to demand what we should or should not do in our city are offended when we remind them that it is OUR CITY. If you don't like it, don't come, it's that simple. Denia belongs to the neighbors, not to the tourists, let it be clear.

Oh, and no, Denia doesn't owe you anything. It already existed centuries ago and will continue here, with or without you.

  3. faustino says:

Hello Manuel Gomez. They are two different things. One is to maintain that trampoline that you like so much, which I agree with. Another that you believe owner and lord of the land where it is located.
That the guiris mostrencos, as you call them, are the ones who have put Denia on the map and if it is great and loved it is thanks to tourists like them and like me, who have not been 50 years but 25 who go to that hospitable city who has always welcomed us.
I can assure you that I will go whenever I want to the trampoline that belongs to everyone, foreigners, tourists and bustards like you, because you have to know that we are all birds of passage even though some believe they are legitimate owners of part of the world..
Of course obtuse people like you have only made big the belly that overtakes them.
    Goodbye.

    • Luis says:

«……..That the mostrencos foreigners, as you call them, are the ones who have put Denia on the map….»
Dianenses go away you that here, your home, do not paint anything, left over. That foreigners, whatever their trouser size, have put Denia on the map. Leave the theme park free, it's dazzling to see people living and working, man!

  4. Enric Sanchez says:

No, no, little blue flag No.
Flag for coastal nominative subdivisions, more crowds, constructive excuses, appear on lists, competitions and records, No.
Flag to lose the essence of the treasure that is still Les Rotes, No.

Care, promote, improve, control, warn, educate, restrict, value, YES.
Concepts similar to those words, YES.

Surely I have something else to review, I'm not "political" to think about everything, everything.
The corresponding State Ministry as well as the Conselleria, the Diputación and the Dénia City Council all together can do great things for the good of Les Rotes.

Like many, including this humble person who speaks to you, Les Rotes is that magical and special place that is part of those feelings where places are life itself, the life of several generations.
Les Rotes is much more than a coastal area of sea, land and trees, it is a way of understanding and living life.

  5. Nita68 says:

That they stop playing flags and worry more about those who break the regulations every summer in the Las Rotas marine reserve.

  6. Pillar says:

But bothers the "trampoline" so much to get the blue flag? Perhaps the mounds of algae that do not allow bathing are more bothersome! That they leave us as we are and everyone is happy

  7. Nita68 says:

That they stop playing flags and control more those who break the regulations every summer in the Las Rotas marine reserve.

  8. Juan Carlos says:

The trampoline is a fantastic incentive for all of us who are there. We have spent decades with our trampoline having a good time all. Or is it that with the blue flag we will have a better time. Or will the holidays be more pleasant? I assure you that. Nope.

  9. Pink says:

It is the best beach. Denia is a paradisiacal place, I am in favor of not removing the trampoline, I have known it for more than 50 years and for those of us who go every year we do not need the blue flag

  10. Manuel GOMEZ L-EGEA says:

    Keep your "little blue flag."
The trampoline will never belong to the mayors, nor to the tourists, nor to the «official guides».
The.Trampolin does not need to be in any guide. As our house is not in any "guide"... we do not need it. That we don't want to be filled with strange foreigners showing off their plump black pudding.
Keep your little flag deep inside. We stayed on "the trampoline".
