This Friday has been held at the Mercat Municipal de Dénia the fourth day of the gastronomy program Menja't la Marina, promoted by the Office of Innovation and Creativity of the City of Dénia with the aim of promoting the commercialization and gastronomic use of the product of proximity and its varieties.

Visitors and customers of the Mercat have been able to taste the different varieties of cherry marketed by the Cireres Muntanya Alacant cooperative, the homemade marmalades of Casa La Pallissa of Vall de Gallinera and the proposals of the chef of the restaurant Arrels Ferràn Giró.

Both the mayor of Denia, Vicent Grimalt, as well as the Councilor for Culture, Festivals and Tourism of the Vall de Gallinera, Ignasi Mora, have agreed on the importance of actions of this type, by bringing the most deeply rooted products to the consumer closer to the Marina Alta. The councilor of the Dénia market, Javier Scotto, has highlighted the quality of the proposal, which allows the transit of the product "From the bench to the Mercat and from the Mercat to the table".

On the other hand, Vicent Sanchis, president of the Cireres Muntanya Alacant cooperative, has made reference to the varieties of cherries that they commercialize and has emphasized that the production of this year "It has been very good, with almost 800 thousand kilograms collected". This production of the cooperative, he added, is destined in an 60 or 70 percent for export, especially in Germany, Italy, England and the city of Paris, one of the main consumers.

Menja't the Navy will return to Mercat de Dénia in July.

What a pity that the brochure is only in Valencian. Those who do not speak it do not understand it.
