It was a pioneering project in the area that saw the light for the first time last summer in Dénia. The idea was simple: convert an information booth into an extension of the Dénia library, but right on the beach. This is how the Biblioplatja was born, which had an overwhelming reception among neighbors and visitors.
Few things are more pleasant than immersing yourself in reading while listening to the sound of the waves crashing in the background. For this reason, few were surprised by the success of an initiative such as the Biblioplatja. In its first summer, located in the Marineta Cassiana, received 2.500 visits from neighbors and tourists.
Now, in order to make this grateful service reach more points, the Dénia City Council has opted to put two libraries on the beach this summer. The Marineta Cassiana will be held again, from June 15 to September 30. The new one, however, will open its doors on July 1, and it will be in the Les Albaranes beach.
This space, which serves as an extension of the Municipal Library, has a book and press loan service, as well as an adapted area to enjoy reading. The Biblioplatjas will open from Tuesday to Saturday, from 09:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00.
All very well and correct, but it is not explained when the water will be turned on at the footbath or shower points.
