The Dénia Marina Charter Base will expand its nautical activity with shuttles to Ibiza and Formentera

29 June 2021 - 11: 15

The Charter Base Marina de Denia has started a step towards what will be the expansion of activities on the Mediterranean coast. With this new plan, the aim is to bring the world of nautical activities closer to the public.

It should be remembered that the Base was born from the merger of two companies located in the port, Velas y Viento and Náutica Corcho, supported in turn by the Puerto Deportivo y Turístico Marina Dénia. The idea that is already underway with the rental of pleasure, sailing or motor boats, is now betting on more activity with the creation of three shuttle boats that will have a connection with Ibiza and Formentera.

«For example, if people want to spend a day in Ibiza we would go out around 7:00 in the morning and in two hours we would be there. The return would be with the last hour of light to Dénia and the groups will be made up of between 6 and 12 people ", explained Carlos Aguado, one of the creators of the project.

As they assure from the Charter Base, it is a very new and exclusive service: "It will offer a highly qualified service, also distinguishing the city of Dénia, which has a very important nautical and seafaring vocation"

The Dénia Marine Charter Base has a 12-month operation and with this initiative it will also promote the creation of jobs, a fundamental factor, since, usually, the company moves about 400 people a week, of which 80% they are national public.

"Our purpose is to continue working to achieve job stability with quality jobs," said the captain and director of Marina de Dénia, Gabriel Martínez. And it is that a sector like this, which is in continuous expansion, needs different profiles of workers: "The jobs range from skippers for boats to mechanics or carpentry"

Regarding the public, the Base's claims are not to target only an elite but its actions are aimed at attracting an open range of public. "We are beginning to have a large young audience, especially women, and that is the idea, it is not intended to serve only an elite," emphasized Gabriel Martínez.

Thus, the objective is to welcome the maximum number of people and, apparently, it is being fulfilled because as explained from Marina de Dénia there is practically no availability for the summer season 2021: «We are already working to continue with the season after the season. the activity, from October we will organize nautical events so as not to slow down. Also, we have in hand the realization of cooking courses at sea ».
