The Soundtrack of the Red Shrimp of Dénia, an example of creativity for the UNESCO network

The audiovisual of the Soundtrack of the Red Gamba of Dénia He traveled this weekend to the Brazilian city of Santos as an example of creativity born within the network of UNESCO cities. And he did it virtually, as part of the Culturally Santista Forum organized by Santos, Creative City of Cinema.

The contribution of Dénia was included in a virtual panel held on Sunday afternoon, in which four initiatives were presented that were considered by the organizers as examples of creativity arising within the UNESCO network, each of which was introduced and explained in internet connections with the corresponding cities.

From Dénia intervened, via Skype or Whatsapp, the director of the Office of Innovation and Creativity, Floren Terrades, who pointed out that in the soundtrack of the red shrimp there was a recognition of a local product that has given gastronomic fame in the city, but also history, tradition, a tribute to our fishermen and the expression of a way of life .

The documentary shows the composition process of the soundtrack by its authors, the denier musicians Javier Pinto and Josep Pastor, and its interpretation by the Dénia Musical Artistic Association. In the images appear numerous places of Dénia, sailors of the city and the cook Quique Dacosta, who collaborated with the composers. The Forum of the city of Santos considers that the audiovisual is an example of integration of three of the seven areas of the UNESCO Creative Cities network: Gastronomy, Music and Cinema.

Along with Dénia, three other cities were presented, virtually: from Óbidos (Portugal) highlighted the great change registered by this town of 11.000 inhabitants that, as Creative City of Literature, has been able to gather more than 200 authors, creators and narrators in a conference that has become a benchmark of the Portuguese intelligentsia. Another Portuguese city, Amarante, announced the project that has allowed it to join the network of Creative City of Music last November. In Ecuador, the city of Duranas City of Crafts, is promoting a marketplace in which the artisans of the UNESCO network will be able to offer and sell their products.
