Dénia Band pays homage a Cervantes in the concert of Santa Cecilia

Artistic Musical Agrupació de Dénia joined the commemoration of Cervantes Year in its traditional concert of Santa Cecilia.

Sponsorship of new musicians

Before the concert began proceeded to sponsorship of new musicians this year become part of the band. Andreu Ivars (percussion), Begoña León (clarinet), Sara Pérez (percussion), Salvador Sancho (clarinet), Jose Antonio Soriano (percussion), María Vives (clarinet) and Claudia Vives (flute), received their instruments hands of their godparents to start playing on the Agrupació.

A special piece to honor a Cervantes

Banda took the opportunity of this celebration to play a very special piece for all of them, the composition of Robert Smith Don QuixoteWho he wrote during his stay in Denia and dedicated to the Agrupació and its director, Frank de Vuyst.

In the second part of the concert they interpreted Bestiarium, Suite For Symphonic BandA suite of nine moves representing nine different animals. This suite was created by Óscar Navarro, Luis Serrano Alarcón, Jan Van der Roost, Kevin Houben, Bert Appermont, Philip Sparke, Robert W. Smith, Ferrer Ferran and Victoriano Valencia.

The audience responded as usual, filling to the brim the capacity of the Social Center.
