Dianense artist Inma Mengual participates in the exhibition '4 Paradigms of research in contemporary sculpture'

August 29 from 2017 - 00: 30

The exhibition “METHODS, 4 paradigms of research in contemporary sculpture”, is a plural artistic project that the artists Imma Mengual, Juan Fco. Martínez Gómez, from Albacete, David Vila and Mª José Zanón will present, this Friday at 20 hours , in the Center d'Art l'Estació. It arises as a result of research, analysis and experimentation, both of the subject and of the different procedures and sculptural processes used in artistic creation.

The results are shaped as a reflection of the personal universe of each of the artists. Four different and individual expository proposals that parallel the investigation and the artistic work from different methods of sculptural production.

And so we find the work of the Dianan Imma Mengual who conceptualizes and generates her work by continually crossing the thin line that separates the normal from the abnormal, attracting her discourses to the normative limits imposed by society (from the micro-society family to the macrocosm Social), to make public facts, with great emotional load and a high sense of aesthetics. It investigates and raises the expression as a necessity generating archies-artefacts that use very basic supports such as stone, graphite or bone.

Juan Fco Martínez Gómez de Albacete presents an experimental sample that raises the understanding between the traditional processes of molding and artistic emptying and the evolution towards contemporary three-dimensional reproduction within the sculptural field. His research focuses on the fragment from the mold and into his record by contact.

In contrast, David Vila, in addition to the use of various sculptural materials, such as molten metal or photography, uses the body of the artist as an element of study, of creation. This configuration of personal line of work, addresses the expression of the most intimate human drives, bringing the viewer to the most hidden areas of being. A living being, in constant regeneration.

Finally, M. José Zanón directs his proposal towards an exploration and analysis of the different expressive qualities that the materials possess when being manipulated through different technical processes. The artist focuses on the use of metal in the sculptural field, investigating mainly those processes that can be applied to the construction of sculptures, especially those that apply the incisive, corrosive, thermal and mechanical techniques. In short, he performs a laboratory work in which various surface procedures are applied to transform the qualities of cold and hard metal, and make it more vulnerable and expressive.

The four creators have shown their work in numerous individual and collective exhibitions, both nationally and internationally. They are sculptors and researchers doctors who teach at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Altea
