The 3rd edition of SONAFILM will be dedicated to epic film music, with a first part based on "The Lord of the Rings"

Today the Sonafilm “Film Music Festival of the Marina Alta”, which celebrates its third edition in 2021, and which has the incorporation of the Dénia City Council, which thus joins that of Ondara to carry out this quality musical project. The presentation has counted with the mayor of Ondara, José Ramiro, the culture councilors of the Dénia and Ondara City Councils, Raul Garcia de la Reina and Raquel Mengual, respectively, and with the manager of AljubMusic, Javier Gil. In Ondara the concert will be held on Saturday August 21 in the Plaza de Toros, and in Dénia on Friday August 20 in Torrecremada.

The mayor of Ondara thanked the Dénia and Ondara culture departments for organizing the regional event Sonafilm, highlighting that it is an act that allows us to “empower our artists” because both the AljubMusic association and the musicians who are going to participate are of the Marina Alta and the Valencian Community, "managing to create a culture of kilometer 0, a culture of quality and safety". In addition, it has taken the opportunity to offer the bullring, where the acts of Ondara, the jewel of culture, are held to other municipalities in the region to be able to carry out cultural events with security and control of capacity.

Raquel Mengual has detailed that the "Sonafilm, Marina Alta Film Music Festival", the third edition of Sonafilm, will be held in Ondara on Saturday August 21, 2021, in the Plaza de Toros, at 23 pm. The Universal Symphony Orchestra will offer a spectacular concert dedicated to “Epic Film Music”, with a first part dedicated to the soundtrack of The Lord of the Rings, and a second part with the best Soundtracks of the XNUMXth century. Raquel Mengual has indicated that in the Plaza de Toros de Ondara the current capacity is one thousand people, but it is expected that the lifting of some restrictions for that date will allow an even greater capacity. For this reason, tickets will be on sale from this week on the Ondara cultural events website www.agendaondara.es The central sectors will be the ones that will be opened first to be able to acquire the tickets, so the public is encouraged to acquire their tickets to enjoy the best visibility. Tickets will be priced at 25 euros arena and 20 euros stands.

In Dénia, Sonafilm will have a film music event the day before, on Friday, August 20 at 22:30 p.m., in the Torrecremada park, as detailed by the Dénia culture councilor, Raül García de la Reina , with a show created specifically to be released in Dénia. The “Mytical Movie Songs” concert, by Moanin´ Project (AljubMusic), will offer soundtracks of some of the most mythical films in history, such as 007, Hurricane, Pulp Fiction o Kill Bill, among other. The manager of AljubMusic, Javier Gil, has detailed that this third edition of the Sonafilm, dedicated to the "Music of Epic Cinema", will feature more than 70 professional musicians and the participation again of the Children's Choir of Coda, as well as the collaboration from an important cultural entity of the Marina Alta, who will be in charge, together with the orchestra, of unveiling and offering a great surprise at the closing of the concert. More than 130 artists including musicians, singers and members will participate in the most spectacular of the three editions of the Festival.

This 2021 marks the 20th anniversary of the premiere in cinemas of the trilogy directed by Peter Jackson, winner of 17 Oscars, "The Lord of the Rings", the highest standard of epic cinema and that in this third edition of the Sonafilm will occupy the entire first part of the Symphonic concert, which will be a well-deserved tribute to the music composed exactly 20 years ago by Canadian Howard Shore, awarded for this extraordinary work with Oscars for Best Original Music and Best Original Song. In the first part, you will be able to enjoy a 20-minute suite of "The Hobbit" in which the mythical melodies that Shore gave life to relate the adventurous journey of Bilbo Baggins will be remembered. The trilogy of "The Lord of the Rings" will continue with three spectacular suites dedicated to each of the films, "The Fellowship of the Ring" (2001), "The Two Towers" (2002) and "The Return of the King" (2003). This first part will feature the participation of the CODA Children's Choir, which will accompany the orchestra. Once the tribute has been made to what is undoubtedly one of the best epic compositions of the XXI so far, the second part will offer a selection of the best and most awarded soundtracks of the 90th century such as “What the the wind carried away "by composer Max Steiner," The Magnificent Seven "by E. Bernstein and" Lawrence of Arabia "by Frenchman Maurice Jarre, which will captivate the most nostalgic of classic Hollywood. It will then advance to the 70s and the epic soundtracks of "Braveheart" by J. Horner and "Robin Hood Prince of Thieves," composed by M. Kamen. Finally he will travel in the late XNUMXs with one of the soundtracks most iconic and well-known in the world, “Rocky”, by Bill Conti, which will close the programming of this second part of the Sonafilm in Ondara.
