The Civil Guard has arrested two people in Calp, a marriage consisting of a man of 25 years and a woman of 24 as alleged perpetrators of 4 crimes of robbery, 1 crime of theft, 1 crime of damage and 1 crime of driving with loss of validity of the permit.
Calp Civil Guard agents have arrested a couple allegedly dedicated to house robbery, which strategically used their van both to monitor the victims, and to hide after committing the crime.
The investigation began in the month of May, as a result of a rebound in thefts inside the home, especially at night, taking advantage of the inhabitants' dream.
All the initial efforts made by the Civil Guard to reduce this type of crime, through apostaderos, intensification of surveillance and a considerable increase in the number of troops in the area, did not give the expected results. From that moment on, the only hypothesis that the agents considered was that those who stole from the houses had to be people who reside nearby.
This was partly confirmed when a neighbor told them that, days before one of the robberies had been committed, she had seen a suspicious van parked in the vicinity of that house, with two young people inside.
After a discreet follow-up of these people's movements, it was found that their way of proceeding was to park the van at a strategic point near their objectives and monitor their routines, while waiting for the opportune moment to enter. To make this wait more comfortable, they had placed a mattress inside and took turns resting. Once the crime was committed, they returned to the vehicle and remained in it until they could leave without raising suspicion.
Another of the difficulties that the agents faced was that they did not use one, but several vans that they exchanged to pass more unnoticed and thus hinder the police work. In addition, they were also specialized in theft of homes under construction, where they stole work tools and copper materials.
When the Civil Guard of Calp managed to close the siege on these two people, who turned out to be married, he proceeded to arrest him as alleged perpetrators of 4 crimes of robbery inside housing, 1 crime of theft, 1 crime of damage and 1 crime against road safety for driving with loss of validity of the license, for total loss of points, although it is not ruled out that they may be involved in more criminal acts. In fact, among the police records consulted, they had more than 80 crimes against property.
The subtracted effects reach more than 3.000 euros, among jewels, laptops or cameras, but there is also work material valued at 10.000 euros, and thousands of meters of copper, valued at about 3.000 euros.
After going to court, his freedom has been decreed with charges.
