The Dosctor Josep Mut has been appointed Head of Pediatrics Hospital de Dénia. Mut, part of the team of Pediatric Health Department Dénia from 2006, takes over from Dr. Luis Santos, head of the department since 2012.
One of the first steps taken by the new boss has been the introduction of non-face consultation, interconsultations between primary care pediatrician and hospital subspecialists to be solved in a maximum of 48 hours.
Doctor Mut has presented this proposal in the framework of his new Departmental Pediatrics Plan, whose main objective is to have the most appropriate professional at each point of the care process, either at the Health Center, the Hospital or the home of the patient.
Mut has highlighted the healthy profile of pediatric patients with 23.000 available to the hospital, a fact that is largely due to breastfeeding. "The feeding of a human being during the first two years of life, will condition his future health, since breastfeeding provides significant gains in childhood with metabolically healthy children, with a lower risk of hypercholesterolemia or cadiovascular. breastfeeding improves even the intelligence and brain development rates of the child ", explained the Head of Pediatrics.
