Artistic Agrupació Musical de Dénia starts the new year with relief in their ranks. Musician Jose Pastor will be over the next five years, the president of the Association taking the witness Josep Vicent Bonet, who chaired the band since 2010.
Once the legislature Bonet, the Board called for elections to the presidency among all partners and members of the grouping. After the deadline for applications, the only presented was that of José Pastor, who was already a member of the board. The statutes do not indicate mandatory vote in case there is only one candidate, so José Pastor was automatically appointed as the new president.
Jose Pastor is part of the Agrupació Artística Musical of Dénia since 1979, when he became a clarinet. She has studied piano and jazz, and now, besides playing the piano with the concert band when required, is part of clusters Marina Big Band y Lie Jazz.
For these next five years as president, Pastor has set some very specific goals. The first round of the Agrupació important bands to competitions like Valencia or Altea. Moreover, in 2016 Band made a trip to Lisbon to participate in an exchange with a Portuguese band.
The support to the music school and the logistical needs of the premises continues being one of the priorities of this new executive, as well as the closing of the commemorative acts of the 60 anniversary of the Band, since for a matter of time some of the scheduled events, such as the publication of a book with the history of the Musical Artistic Association of Dénia.
