Five hours after the start of the I Contest of Creative Cuisine of the Red Gamba of Dénia The president of the jury, Quique Dacosta, He announced the name of the winner. From the 9 in the morning the Mercat Municipal was a hive of participants, media, professionals of the hospitality industry of the region and many curious, who had the opportunity not only to see the cooks work, but to share with them impressions and Curiosities about their dishes.

At 12: 30, fulfilling the program, began to emplatar their creations in the order established by previous drawing. Each cook prepared one plate for each member of the jury and another to be photographed. Meanwhile, the jury tasted each dish in a booth and made their personal assessments. Among other things they valued the presentation, the flavor and the amount of shrimp that each creation had.

Minutes before the 14 hours Quique Dacosta announced the names of the three winners: the third place went to Three in shrimp, Prepared by Iván Méndez, chef of the spa of Mondariz, and the second to Steamed red shrimp from the sea of ​​Dénia, Created by Iñigo Almenara, executive chef of the Monkey Group in Playa de las Américas in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Between applause, the winner of the contest collected his prize, a sculpture by the artist Toni Marí who also received the other two classified. The rest of the contestants received diplomas of participation.

The fishermen's Guild of Dénia contributed a total of 5 kilos of shrimp, around 120 pieces, selected one to one of the four boats that went out to work the previous night.

Since the organization of the contest they have been very satisfied with the result and the development of it, practically assuming that next year Dénia will host the second edition of this international event.
