25 June 2018 - 16: 00

The week of Pride has come strongly to Jesus Pobre. The EATIM has signed, this Monday morning, a collaboration agreement with the association Diversity Alacant, a collective of social action that defends the inclusion of the LGTBI collective through the implementation of normalization mechanisms in the LGTBI diversity and struggle.

Thanks to this agreement, Jesús Pobre becomes part of the Valencian Observatory against Sexual Discrimination and the Valencian Network of Municipalities for Diversity and the Bureau of Hate Crimes, where you will have a voice and vote.

In addition, Diversity Alacant coordinate the actions that the City of Jesus Pobre directs to the collective of gay, lesbian, transsexual and bisexual people of the municipality, advise on sexual and gender diversity at the municipal level and proposals will be developed to improve the living conditions of the LGTBI people.

Among the concrete actions to be held soon, it is worth mentioning a round table to be held in September on the rights of the collective or the RiuRau Film Fest, whose LGTBI section is based in Jesús Pobre.

In the educational field, Jesús Pobre accesses Diversament, the program that forms in the promotion and attention to diversity in the classrooms, the fight against bullying and cyberbullying and teacher training.

In short, with the signing of this agreement, Jesús Pobre hopes to achieve the challenge of social diversity and real and effective equality, overcome stereotypes and establish equal conditions for the participation of any person in all areas of the people.

In the signing of the agreement the mayor of Jesús Pobre was present, Javier Scotto, and the president of Diversity Alacant, Toño Abad. Both have agreed that this is a "historical day" for Jesús Pobre, whose City Council already has an inclusive banner.

Interesting initiative, it would be more interesting to know what the true opinion of the natives about it is. Since I do not see them very "gay friendly" or "friendly" with anything other than themselves. Although it is positive that they are becoming aware. They could throw the first Gay Pride party in town. It would be the first in the entire Marina Alta.
