Jesús Pobre hosted the day on film of dance and LGTBI of the Riurau Film Festival

The Riurau Film Festival 2018 arrived last Friday, 7 in September, at the Gran Riurau de Jesús Pobre, which hosted the projections of the sections of the LGTBI dance and thematic film.

Again full capacity to enjoy the film proposal, with a large group of spectators from the municipality and the region, committed each year with the commitment of the festival to make visible the LGTBI collective.

The day began with a round table on diversity and culture that was moderated by Javier Scotto, mayor of Jesús Pobre. At the table two voices were heard: one from LGTBI with Toño Abad, president of Diversity, and the second with Carolina LaFerre, from CEODTRANSMEDIA.

Next, three films from the Film of Dance section were screened, to which the film was added Melange, sent by Merce Cunningham Trust of New York, special contributor to this edition, which was presented by the former dancer of the Merce Cunningham Ballet, China Laudisio.

After the screening of the LGTBI Film section, with three other films, the day ended with the short films presented at the RIURAU EXPRESS competition, new this year, filmed and assembled by the filmmakers at 1 and 2 in September at Jesús Pobre.

Prizes of the day

The second day of the Riurau Film Festival left in Jesús Pobre the following winners:

  • Best Short Film Dance Film: Vanity of Florent Schwartz of the USA.
  • Best short film LGTBH: Sunken Pulm (Fresh Water Plum) by Roberto F. Canuto of China / Spain.
  • Special Jury Award: The Broken Doll by Daniel León Laclave of Spain.
  • Riurau Express Awards: Yolanda Medina for City with Law, Marta Lorenzi for Against hunger, guitars, Carmen Zaragozà, for Jesus Poor.
  • Balearia Riurau Express Award: Carmen Zaragozà, for Jesus Poor

The Riurau Film Festival will end this weekend at the Riurau d'Arnauda in Xàbia. The 14 and 15 days will host, in the Riurau d'Arnauda, ​​the Reflections under the mirror conference. Cinema and Marine Biodiversity, organized by the Oceanogràfic Foundation and its Xàbia Projecte. The finalist shorts will also be screened in the Fiction section and the shorts of the Escola de Cinema Riurau de Xàbia.
