Jesús Pantojo "Titi", until now coach of the Autonomous male senior team of the Dénia Básquet Club, has left his place on the bench to Bernardo Sanz, after submitting his resignation to the board of directors presided by Marisa Cervera. The reasons given by Pantojo to leave the club are personal and professional that at this time prevent him from moving forward with the direction of the team.
The Cádiz-born coach joined the Dénia Básquet team in the 2007 summer after stopping the activities of the Club Apamar Maristas Dénia, in which he had designed and directed a magnificent work of training in the sport of the basket.
The coach has been one of the main pillars of the Dianense club in the sports field. In addition to being a personal reference for all athletes who have been part of the structure. He was always willing to collaborate in all the initiatives that have been organized, putting in addition a unique and endearing personal seal.
He has gone through all the categories of the club, in his last stage he has dedicated it to the Autonomous Senior Men's team which he took charge of in the Christmas 2015 after Xavi Mesegue left office.
Renovation of the senior team
The team finished fifth that season giving entry to very young players trained in the club. What was highly valued was the renovation that took place in the staff where the prominence of young people was very prominent.
In the last campaign he repeated the fifth place of the classification but he was also runner-up of both the Lliga Valencia as the Federation trophy thus giving an important step forward all the young people who had known to add to the group.
He began the season presenting winning the final of the Lliga Valencia of Preseason knowing how to keep the ascending line drawn and the same philosophy focused on working with the people of the house.
Jesús Pantojo now leaves the sixth classified team with the category virtually saved with seven games left to play, with a great work done on and off the track with the whole group that will miss him without a doubt.
Bernardo Sanz relieved in the direction
Bernardo Sanz, coach of the house that knows perfectly the group of players, many of whom passed through his hands in their formative stages has taken his place in the technical direction of the team.
Sanz will try to give continuity to the work of his predecessor, ensuring the permanence in Autonomic as the first objective. The most important thing will be to continue the work of consolidating a young team that accumulates year after year an experience that sooner or later will revert to high sports performance open to the arrival of new values formed in the quarry.
