Four complaints lodged for illegal fishing in the waters of the Cap de Sant Antoni marine reserve

The Maritime Surveillance Service of the Local Police of Denia has denounced since the beginning of the summer season two vessels that were fishing in waters of the marine reserve of the Cap de Sant Antoni and two individuals, of French nationality, who practiced fishing Underwater in this protected area. Along with the complaint, the agents proceeded to seize the fishing equipment used.

Parallel to these complaints, thirteen of the vessels that sailed in the restricted area above the maximum permitted speed, which is three knots, have been seen. All of this will be reported to the conselleria for the opening, if appropriate, of sanctioning files.

Inspections to sailing schools

Outside of the reserve area, the Maritime Surveillance Service of the Local Police of Dénia has carried out inspections of two sailing schools, in the beaches from Blay Beach and Punta Molins, to one of the skate, kayak rental concessions and the attraction known as "banana", in order to guarantee the safety of the users of these services.

In this sense, the control and surveillance of the beaches of Deveses and Santa Ana in order to verify that those who practice kitesurfing and windsurfing make use of the entrance and exit channels installed by the Ajuntament de Dénia.

Rescue of a rental skate

Last July 8 the service agents rescued four young men who were on board a rental skate and were surprised by the strong wind, which dragged them offshore preventing them from returning to shore by their own means. The local police vessel, with the help of the beach rescue workers, towed the skid to the shore.
