The activity aims to offer an introductory overview of the relationship between music and psychology, to present tools of Psychology to improve the performance of musicians and, on the other hand, to learn about the effects of music on people's behavior.
The course, organized by UNED Benidorm and with the promotion of the Benidorm City Council, has been presented by Mr. Jaume Tortosa, Secretary of the CA UNED Dénia and Coordinator of University Extension; the Benidorm Councilor for Education, Dª. Maite Moreno, who expressly congratulated the course; and its director and Professor of Psychology at UNED Mr. Andrés LópezdelaLlave.
Jaume Tortosa has commented “I want to thank you for the trust you have had in our course (…) we believed that our headquarters (Dénia, Xàbia and Benidorm) deserve that we are on the front line in summer (…) To thank the Benidorm City Council, not only for its presence, but for Benidorm to welcome us once again, and once again to give us this Torrejó classroom to be able to do this course (…) UNED, with this Covid-19 situation, what it has done is to bet that culture continues to reach our students (…) We want to thank you. "
The conference was opened with the workshop "How to provoke positive emotions" by Mª Carmen Pérez-Llantada Rueda, Professor of Psychology at UNED. Mª Carmen Pérez-Llantada has explained that positive emotions can be learned throughout life, this learning being fundamental for the well-being and health of people, and playing music an important role in said learning. In her workshop she has taught through various exercises how to provoke positive emotions so that they overcome the negative ones.
After the workshop, a presentation was made on “Relevant psychological variables in artistic and musical interpretation” by Andrés LópezdelaLlave Rodríguez, who highlighted “Human behavior is explained functionally taking into account its antecedents and consequences. In this sense, Music can be seen as part of the background of numerous behaviors (...). There are many psychological tools that can help musicians and musicians in their creative, interpretive or teaching activity. These tools, which are useful in any context in which musical behaviors occur (composition, performance, learning), have been of special interest and application in the contexts of musical performance and in the educational process of musical learning. "
The activity will continue until Wednesday, July 29, days in which various topics related to psychology and music will be discussed.
The course is completed with four hours of materials consultation and active student participation in the virtual course forum.
Open the enrollment period between July 7 and October 22 for 28 Degrees, 11 Combined Degrees, 79 Master's degrees and Access to University at CA UNED Dénia and its classrooms in Xàbia and Benidorm.
