The restart of the competitions after the Christmas break translates into a triumph of great relevance for the Senior Men of the Dénia Básquet SUMA 1 National against CB Altea, 77 to 63.
Those led by Eduardo Clavero and Pascual Miralles started the match cold, ceding the initiative to the veteran team from Altea until the break, although they managed to always stay close on the scoreboard.
The attack was not fluid but it was compensated by a great job in defense and especially under the basket, which managed to minimize the physical superiority of our rivals, on a day in which we had casualties in the team's rotation.
The visitors came to have a favorable maximum difference of five points, just as the second period came to an end.
Everything changed however after the break.
The team began to get dynamic and improved its performance notably thanks to a great collective game, which not only led them to equalize the contest but soon allowed them to have the first advantages in the match.
Altea's reaction was to resort to a zone defense that although it was difficult to read the Dianenses from the start, they attacked with great intelligence, extending the advantage to ten points already within the last period.
The final reaction of the rival team, drawing on experience and talent, was not enough to compromise the local dominance, widening the difference until reaching the final result.
The team will receive the visit of Montemar de Alicante next weekend, third in the standings, with the opportunity, despite the losses that will continue to be counted, to climb positions in a tremendously even competition this season.
