Significant increase in alcohol cases treated at the Day Center in 2014

The Day Center Denia has balanced the year 2014, and the data reveal a more remarkable fact: the increase in cases of alcohol to other years.

In 2014, 88% of the people attending the center began treatment for alcohol abuse. We're talking about 85 people, mostly men, who searched in the middle some help to overcome their addiction. The remaining 12% of patients attended by cocaine, heroin and other substances such as cannabis, inhalants, as well as pathological gambling.

These data have been released after the signing of the renewal of the annual collaboration agreements with the Foundation for the Analysis, Study and Prevention of Addictions for the 2015 annuity.

The first agreement concerns the procurement by the AEPA Foundation of a psychologist to support the implementation of programs that are made from the Community Prevention Unit in Addictive Behaviors (UPCCA) Town Hall of Dénia.

Signed renewal agreements with AEPA

The other agreement provides for collaboration between the City Council and the AEPA Dénia operation Foundation Day Center for users with addictions that manages the foundation. The City will provide for this annuity 31.000 euros for the maintenance of this Denia Day Center, which covers the entire Department of Health number 13. The AEPA Foundation, meanwhile, will develop various action programs and services aimed at providing individual and group counseling to people with addiction problems to be referred to the Day Center.

The center has a total of 30 places concerted Health Department, which receives patients referred by the Addictive Behavior Unit (UCA) Department of Health number 13.

The aim of this center is to support, promote and strengthen the process of detoxification and insertion of people with dependence on psychoactive and / or other addictive behaviors substances by psychological and occupational therapy, training workshops, therapeutic groups and individual monitoring.
