I National Contest of rabbits and guinea pigs, Saturday in Dénia

This Saturday, March 8 day, Mascotetes organizes the I National Contest of Rabbits and Guinea Pigs along with the National Association of Rabbits (Asnac) and the Association of Spanish Guinea Pigs (Ace) in the marina Marina de Denia.

The activities will start at 10 in the morning and it is planned to have a day full of competitions up to 19 hours.

The day will be organized in two blocks. The morning has been planned for the participation of people registered from different associations of all the autonomous communities of Spain and Portugal. Among the activities, highlights the beauty exhibition of 90 rabbits and 50 guinea pigs in which will be awarded with a trophy and worldwide recognition to the winning specimen in each of the categories and the talk of Mayte, expert in rabbits and guinea pigs, the 12.30 in which all kinds of topics related to these animals will be discussed.

In the afternoon, all individuals who have a copy of these species as pets will be able to participate for free in the contest and will be given a gift for their pet.

At 17 hours Patricia Moya, biologist, will talk about rabbit genetics and from the 18 it will be the turn of Edgar Weafer.

Jury of the Contest

The jury, which will select the most beautiful specimens, is made up of the rabbit judge "Mine is called Joe Rogers" and the guinea pig judges Daniel Benasiak and Ismael Maldonado.

"These pets, guinea pigs and rabbits, are considered as farm animals and there is a lack of information on how to care for and feed these animals. The organization of this event is a way to raise awareness and promote the care and beauty of these copies ", have clarified from Mascotetes.
