The Hall of Hospital de Dénia will host next Monday, October 16 at 16: 00 hours, a Psychoeducation Workshop to learn how to handle psychotic patients.
The training, open to the public, is organized by the Department of Health of Dénia and the NGO for Mental Health of the Marina Alta -AMADEM-. The objective is that the relatives of patients with mental illness become familiar with the symptoms of possible psychotic episodes, such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder.
The head of the Department of Psychiatry of the Department of Health of Denia, Katarzyna Kwiatkowska, will address the clinical side of the pathology, such as the pdromes or initial symptomatology of the disease: changes in the behavior or perception of the patient's world. It will also discuss the management strategy of the patient after hospitalization or ambulatory follow-up measures.
For her part, the AMADEM Psychologist, Louisina daives, will inform about the guidelines to be followed by family members: the psychological strategy at home, the medication and its possible adverse effects or the symptoms of relapse.
