The pandemic generated by COVID-19 has further exacerbated the shortage of blood supplies, therefore, HLA San Carlos collaborates tomorrow Friday the 12th, together with the Transfusion Center of the Valencian Community and the City Council of Dénia, in collecting blood donations. These donations will be made on June 12, simultaneously, in Dénia, Murcia and Madrid with all security measures.
For three years, the HLA Group has organized a donation marathon in different provinces where the company has a presence for World Donor Day, which is celebrated on June 14, thanks to which more than 600 bags of blood in one day. This year, due to the exceptional situation caused by the extension of COVID-19, the day will be shorter and will be carried out under strict security measures that guarantee donor protection.
Anyone who wishes can go to donate to Dénia Social Center (Calderón street, 4) from 9:45 a.m. to 13:45 p.m. in the morning and from 17:00 p.m. to 20:30 p.m. in the afternoon.
Each donation can save three lives and blood is essential in urgent treatments and interventions. The World Health Organization has launched a campaign with the slogan "Safe blood saves lives" and the slogan "Donate blood to make the world a healthier place" reminding us that the only way to ensure a sufficient blood supply It is safe through donations, and they call for more people to save lives by donating blood periodically.
Other HLA centers also join the initiative
The hospitals of the HLA La Vega Group in Murcia and Universitario Moncloa in Madrid will also join the support of the blood reserve banks in their cities on June 12. Red Cross Madrid will install its mobile unit in the vicinity of the HLA University Hospital Moncloa next Friday from 9:45 a.m. to 14:00 p.m. so that anyone who wants to can donate blood safely. From 9:45 am on June 12, the HLA La Vega hospital will hold another day for anyone who wants to donate blood at the center's facilities, next to the regional hemodialysis center. Likewise, the ASISA Delegation in Alicante has organized a similar day on June 15 at the Archaeological Museum of the province from 11 am to 20:30 pm.
