dianenses Heroes at Ironman Nice

The Dianense triathletes of the Multiesport club Marina AltaEnrique and Javier Cervera Romany, along with Sergio Alberola They belonging to Ondara Tri- Sport, managed to fulfill his dream of successfully completing an Ironman, namely the meeting in Nice.

The Ironman is one of the toughest in the world along with those held in Lanzarote and Hawaii. Dianenses three triathletes had to go, 3,8 kilometers of swimming, cycling 180 kilometers and finish with a marathon 42,195 kilometer race walk.

The test began at dawn on the beach centenary congregating at the exit 2.800 participants. One hundred of them are professionals in this sport.

In Nice, the bike segment was very tough and demanding, because it took several ports, highlighting the Col de L'ECRE, of 21 kilometers long and an average gradient of 7%. British cyclist killed 30 years in this segment crashed his bike against a wall.

A test of these features plus a good physical preparation requires more or better psychologically. To finish an Ironman like this is not available to many athletes. All they had to spend more than 13 hours to cross the finish line and thus return to Spain with something as valuable as the title Finisher.
