These should have concluded, as signed in the bidding contract, the July 26.
"They have not met the deadlines", Grimalt declares after several extensions granted to the company, whose work, which the Government has already been able to visit, calls "disaster". According to the mayor, there is still a lot of work to do, and the one done so far does not meet the required conditions.
Grimalt has demanded from the company that the interior of the building be in condition for Monday, when the course begins, showing concern about the safety of the almost 500 boys and girls studying in it. In the same way, he demands that most of the playground be set up where students enjoy recess, although this forces them to work until Sunday. The company has confirmed that it will do so, using more workers to meet the new deadline.
From next week, the company will work outside school hours until all the works that were promised were carried out. "We don't care what they work for, but not when the children are there"Says Grimalt.
The mayor has revealed his impotence for not being able to take action against the company, stating that "It is unfortunate that this type of companies play well with the awards". Apparently, one of the excuses that were given to the City Council for the delay is the lack of material for the closure of the factories during August, to which Grimalt replied that the works should have been finished in July, so the excuse It was inadmissible.
Future conditioning of CEIP Llebeig
The mayor has taken the opportunity to thank the teachers and families of the school for their patience, committing to follow up the works until everything is settled. In addition, it announces that, once these have been completed, they will carry out an X-ray of the building to determine what new maintenance work is required, since it was built in the 70 years.
The intention is to modernize it over the next year or two years.
