The spokesperson for Gent of Dénia, mario vidal, will present a motion in plenary session this week to demand the conditioning of the Trinquet del Castell and the exploitation of it for more uses than the practice of sport.
According to Vidal, in 2017 the rehabilitation of the Trinquet was approved to turn it into a multipurpose space, the works being concluded in December of 2018. However, according to the Dianense formation, the installation continues to present several shortcomings in terms of accessibility, there being still a large step at the entrance that makes access to people with functional diversity, and security irregularities difficult.
In addition, Vidal has revealed that since the completion of the works the space has never been used for anything other than the pilot practice, when the project was presented to convert it into a multi-purpose area. From Gent de Dénia they ask that it be spent for youth, cultural events and exhibitions as it was raised from the beginning.
