As they explained councilors, Miguel Llobell and Pepa FontThe objective pursued by this proposal is that the neighbors who have a water leak in your home not see considerably increased water bill, since recently known case of a neighbor who detected more than a month after the occurrence , a water leak in your home country, seeing your bill increased up to 8.200 euros.

The motion presented to the information commission has three approaches. On the one hand, "the Special Leakage Rate is updated, incorporating in the Water Service Tariffs, a specific section of" involuntary leaks ", where users who have requested and demonstrated the involuntary nature of the leak are not penalized".

On the other hand, that "is articulated in the Regulation of the Domiciliary Water Supply of the City of Dénia, the cases where the reduction of the debt and / or deferment of its payment in case of involuntary leaks are applied, to avoid the discretion of the company, avoiding inequality of treatment towards consumers ".

Finally, the motion includes that "the processing before the Sanitation Entity of the Valencian Community will be facilitated through the concession company of the potable water service, the return of the amounts invoiced in the drinking water receipts of the sanitation canon, as these consumptions do not correspond for domestic or industrial use ".
