After a year of fallow forced by the coronavirus pandemic, the Marina Alta has been able to once again celebrate the traditional Premis de la Tardor awarded by Compromís per Dénia to personalities who stand out for their social and cultural commitment, "and for their will to make a country." The gala was held on Friday night in the Jauja room of the station Baleària in the presence of prominent faces of politics and local culture.

After 26 years of celebrating the Premis de la Tardor, last year the appointment had to be postponed to avoid putting the guests at risk. "Today we have returned with much more enthusiasm, with great enthusiasm and positives", greeted enthusiasts Eva Round and Toni Cuartero, who acted as presenters. In front of them, in the audience, were the President of the Corts, Enric Morera, Agueda Micó, secretary general of Més-Compromís, and Adolfo Utor, President of Baleària, among a large number of familiar faces.

«We are very happy to see so many smiles on this night of culture, of society, of sharing, and recognizing ourselves, thanking us and living. Living, because after the strange times that we have passed, it is a joy to see how we begin to find ourselves again in a normality that we hope will not be truncated again, "said the presenters, underlining that the Tardor Awards" mean recognizing worth, the courage, the work and the will of the people and groups of our territory disseminating, promoting and building culture, society, environmentalism, sport, and ultimately, humanism ».

Collective award to the Baleària Foundation

And along this line, the first of the honorees and winners, the Fundació Baleària, which was recognized for its enormous sensitivity and courage for being developed within a company that is very clear about its values in terms of social responsibility and that, through this branch, has helped to connect different territories by supporting culture , sports and caring for the environment. A recognition that was thanked by Utor himself, assuring that it is "a very important award from an emotional point of view, but also financially, as it strengthens the reputation" of the foundation.

Before delivering the award, Rosa Seser, president of the Institut d'Estudis Comarcals Marina Alta and patron of the Fundació Baleària, took the stage to address those present and thank the award, ensuring that this type of recognition is what encourages us to continue. Seser concluded by underlining that the foundation is "an exemplary entity that has the will to be so."

Finally, it was the president of the Baleària Foundation, Ricard Pérez, who went up to collect the award given to him by the Dianense councilor Rafa Carrió. Pérez had words of gratitude for Baleària for "the will of its directors to create a foundation that was not necessary." In addition, he wanted to share the award with all the workers of the shipping company, "who feel like the Foundation is one of them."

"It is a very important award, because it gives us a reputation that will make us transmit our values to society with more authority", indicated the president of the foundation, although he pointed out: "now we have a debt with you, because we have to commit ourselves not to let you down. You will feel proud ", concluded Ricard Pérez to the applause of those present.

Individual award to guitarist Miquel Pérez Perelló

After this, he played the Premi de la Tardor individual, the Premi Tomàs Miquel Perelló, which was delivered to the renowned local guitarist Miquel Pérez Perelló. His meritorious trajectory has led him to perform on hundreds of stages and to collaborate with artists of the stature of Pep «el Botifarra» and Pau Chafer, but also with personalities from other branches far from music, such as the artist Joan Castejón or the rapsoda Tomàs Llopis. His works have always gone hand in hand with literature, as he has musicalized Ausiàs March, Vicent Andrés Estellés, Miguel Hernández, and even Homero. For all this, and for being an example of versatility, an essential part of the Valencian music scene and a benchmark for Dénia's guitar, Compromís decided to honor him at the Premis de la Tardor.

Before the award ceremony, the artist Joan Castejón took the stage to present Miquel Pérez Perelló and everything that brought them together, showing himself very moved by the recognition of his friend. «I feel very happy to have been with you traveling to all those ithacas», Assured Castejón in reference to the tour they shared with the project Melodemodomies.

From the hand of the local secretary of Compromís, Agustí Espí, the guitarist received his award that he claimed to have moved him since it was announced, recalling his innocent and happy childhood in Dénia, as well as his first steps with a guitar until he reached that stage . He recalled for those present several anecdotes from that day to day in Dénia at that time, which has marked him throughout his professional career and which is now recognized by his neighbors. In addition, after the thanks, he performed a piece live with the collaboration of the voices of the public.

Before concluding, the President of Les Corts, Enric Morera, took the stage, who pointed out the historical importance of the Compromís de Dénia group as well as the relevance of some awards that he had previously attended. Finally, the local secretary, Agustí Espí, said goodbye to those present after a gala full of culture, whose attendees were received at the entrance with an aerial acrobatics show performed by the Tonyines de la Marina group, from the circus cultural entity. La Marina Social Club, and closing the event, as usual, with La Muixeranga.
