Almost 5 months after the vaccination of the then Councilor of Public Health of Dénia, Cristina MoreraDuring the first phase of the process, vaccines were intended only for residents of nursing homes, the Prosecution it has ruled that it does not find illegality in the act.
In this way, the Prosecutor's Office files the pre-procedural open proceedings of Morera, which was under legal suspicions for having been vaccinated when, supposedly, it was not. The priority group you established Ministry of Health for that first phase, they were residents and staff of senior centers. However, the Prosecutor's Office points out that his vaccination was adjusted to the established protocol.
Vaccine "to avoid missing doses"
The vaccination of the now ex-councilor was carried out on January 12 in the Santa Llúcia Residence when the residents and workers of the center were vaccinated. At the conclusion of the entire list, according to Morera, he was asked to offer to be vaccinated since, otherwise, they would have to throw away the leftover doses. An "order" that also prompted her to turn to other people who were not currently on the list.
When the scandal broke out, two weeks later, in the media, and despite gestures of support from your team in the City of Dénia, Cristina Morera decided to take responsibility and resign from his position as Councilor for Public Health and First Deputy Mayor.

However, other fellow party members of the Marina Alta who were also caught with the vaccine running through their body, in the same phase of the process, did not follow the path of the Dianense mayor and they held on to their charges. This is the case of the mayors of El Verger, Ximo Coll, and Els Poblets, Carolina Vives.
In the case of both mayors, the prosecution has denounced a possible bribery offense having skipped the vaccination shift. According to the Prosecutor's Office, they could have used their public position to receive said dose, so the Dénia court, the competent body, will be in charge of clarifying if there was really a crime in its decision.
It is a shame that there are events like this. It is clear that the remaining doses were not offered to the public, but were offered to specific people with political responsibilities and because of who they were. If they accept the offer, in addition to being immoral, in my opinion, it is criminal and could effectively be considered bribery (accepting gifts based on the position held at that time). Anyway, I do not understand the position of the prosecutor.
If the Prosecutor's Office determined the not guilt of the former Denia councilor, so it will be then.
But the debate was about the fact that during the vaccination of the elderly and some doses are "left over", there is always a councilor or political position nearby to offer his arm ..., so the debate is about whether his behavior has been ethical, in accordance with his position (… public servant) and above all honest.
Because it is well known that after this episode, residence personnel have not been vaccinated.
