This week has ended the cycle of educational workshops for patients with diabetes organized in Comprehensive Health Center (CSI) of Dénia II and taught by the nursing team. During four theoretical-practical sessions, which were held on Friday mornings, groups of 10-15 people treated different aspects of diabetes.
To the table with head, Myths and realities in the diet, Care of the Diabetic Foot y Oral treatment and Insulin were the topics that were put on the table for patients and family members. "The objective has been to provide knowledge and tools that facilitate the patient's self-control of their disease, and that, in addition, patients interact and share experiences and knowledge about the management of pathology", explains María Dolores Pérez Estela, Coordinator of Nursing at CSI Dénia.
The existing demand and the satisfactory balance of this experience among diabetic patients will motivate the workshops to be resumed in October, with the preparation of a specific program and the possibility of extending it to organizations and groups related to Diabetes.
