Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana starts the process to renew the routes of the 9 Line of TRAM between Teulada-Dénia

Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) has initiated the tender procedures for the purchase of sleepers and rails for the renewal of the 9 Line tracks of the TRAM d'Alacant between Teulada and Dénia, for a budget of 3.478.508 euros.

Specifically, the supply of 19.000 concrete monobloc metric gauge beams has been tendered for the value of 1.701.260 euros, including VAT, and 30.600 meters of railway lane, at a cost of 1.777.248 euros.

With this material, the works for the improvement and renewal of roads in the Teulada-Gata de Gorgos and Gata de Gorgos-Dénia sections will be continued, the last phase of track renewal included in the Modernization Plan of the 9 Line of the TRAM d ' Alacant that exceeds 120 million euros.

Within the foreseen investments by the Generalitat for the coming years, FGV has envisaged as actions the aforementioned renewal of road, adaptation of bridges and slopes, improvements in the mobile material, improvement of security facilities, communications and energy and the Tranvíaización project of the TRAM access to the city of Dénia.

In addition, FGV continues with the procedures for contracting the works planned in the Teulada-Dénia section, in order to complete the modernization project.

These actions aim to achieve a complete renovation and modernization of the line, with an adequate exploitation of it, the improvement of the services offered to the user, with the aim of maintaining and improving operating conditions, guaranteeing regularity and the quality of the service and, on the other hand, that the 9 Line acquires the standards of the rest of the FGV network in Alicante.

While work continues on the Calp-Dénia section and as a consequence of the interruption of the effective rail service, FGV offers an alternative bus service linking the towns of Calp, Benissa, Teulada, Gata de Gorgos, Xara and Dénia.
