Successful start of the Música al Castell Festival with Lole Montoya and Matthieu Saglio

19 July 2021 - 10: 53

This weekend the new edition of Música al Castell was inaugurated, which this time, again, was celebrated far from its iconic stage: the castle Denia.

After the stoppage suffered in 2020 by the coronavirus pandemic, this weekend the Festival Música al Castell has returned. And he has done it on a stage located in the Torrecremada gardens, in the same enclave where the Dénia Jazz Festival takes place.

On Friday, the person in charge of inaugurating this cycle of traditional music was the living legend of flamenco Lole Montoya. Lole has crossed the musical threshold becoming, today, a social reference. Her iconic figure is printed on T-shirts, the streets are papered with those letters to which she puts her particular voice. Even Tarantino himself couldn't resist including it in one of his soundtracks. The mixture of these attributes forms a unique personality that projects in each performance.

The artist dazzled on the Dianense stage before an absolute full house, being the best possible opening of the long-awaited festival.

On Saturday it was the turn of the jazz of the cellist and composer Matthieu Saglio who presented his work The way of the winds. In these new compositions, Matthieu has surrounded himself with a series of luxury guests, among European jazz references, companions of many years ... and his 3 children. The collaborators of this work have not been simple guests. All have had their zone of freedom and have contributed their inspiration and inimitable personal stamp.

The result is a varied album, with the cello as the main axis, which is traveled like a trip out of time and with which it delighted the public of Dénia who did not want to miss the performance last Saturday.
