17 September 2014 - 08: 15

The Entity of Infrastructures of the Generalitat (EIGE) has informed that this same month they will begin the works of the new pedestrian promenade of the Dénia port that have a budget of 910.069 euros.

The company will Varadero Port Denia running these works after receiving the grant by the Department of Infrastructure, Planning and the Environment.

New ride in the harbor

They claim from the Ministry, the goal is "Recover the unity of the port and generate an urbanization with the necessary roundness, clarity and quality that serves as a focus and reference in the progressive modernization that has been undertaken in this port for some time".

The starting point of the works is the south, in the place that occupied the former offices of Balearia, and end up in the north, up to the junction with Calle Pont, comprising the entire area from the edge of the road to the sea.

With these works it is to maximize this close to the sea, where pedestrians have priority and where it is intended to add value to the fish market, improving access and linking it to walk. It also seeks to reorder the area for parking and place next to road traffic.

The walk will have a special road for bicycles, parallel to the pedestrian, and masses of trees of tamarinds, lagoons, halepensis pines and palm trees will be responsible for shading the walk. The illumination of the promenade will be improved and the pedestrian area will be delimited with the pavement of the ports.

Has anyone in the Consistory ever thought how interesting it would be to connect this hypothetical promenade, which could go from where the current one ends, to the holiday rental apartments Acuario, to, for example, the magnificent park of Les Basettes? Because, in addition, this wonderful park is underutilized, precisely because it is far from the urban area, and connecting it to the center of Denia by means of a promenade would be fantastic.
In addition, you can fully respect the ecosystem of the Las Marinas, since there is more than enough to undertake the project (for example, along the Carrer Boga).
How many families with children and many elderly people would be appreciated!

  2. Wickie says:

But equally it seems absolutely essential, if we want to empower the city of Denia as a pleasant and sustainable tourist destination, which seriously initiate a draft promenade to the Las Marinas. I think the city of Denia would gain a lot, because, besides the boardwalks are always very attractive, you get certainly relieve much of the streets and parking lots, crowded with cars, since many people living in closer to urban developments will encourage undoubtedly a walk and reach the center of the city on foot.

  3. Wickie says:

I think it is very good that a city like Denia, whose town center is centered in the port area, definitely has a nice continuous port walk, which makes this area much more pleasant for pedestrians, especially when it is a city that lacks a seafront style to those of cities such as Benidorm or Gandia (if we except the seafront of Las Rotas, something far from the town, and the Cervantes esplanade, really small and with traffic between it and the port). Everything that is to gain space for the pedestrian in front of the vehicles is an advance, especially if it is done with care.

  4. Juan says:

Very good news because it positions the Hippies can be put on that new ride releasing the current that has remained small.

    • other says:

Sorry Juan, but consider that it is good to spend almost 1 million euros of OUR TAXES, so that they set up their stalls el.mercadillo, it seems very expensive to me ...? Do not you think ?? .. Denia has many problems of street cleaning , health of regatxos, few parks ect ...

      • Juan says:

        Hehe ...
I will have expressed myself wrong ...
I was referring to the fact that the future new promenade "COULD" serve, "FOR AMONG OTHER THINGS", freeing up part of the current crowded promenade of the Esplanade Cervantes.
I also still think that the Autonomous Fund for that action, "BEFORE OTHER CITIES TAKE IT", better stay in Denia and improve the seafront that the whole city is waiting for with such enthusiasm.
I give you the reason that Denia has, unfortunately, infinite deficiencies in many aspects ...
        But look, it's something.

I agree with the comment of Otro, the houses of Okupas in front of the restaurant Fernando, I think it should be preferred, as the cleaning of the streams, we would save many floods, and of course it would give another air to this town So beautiful, it is degrading to go through Ahy.

  6. other says:

Okay, but when there will be some money to, remove squatters and house cleaning regatxo in road les marines, opposite the restaurant fernando

  7. marten-To says:
