The Working Group of Ostomy Consultations of the Valencian Community (GCVCO) has been awarded with the award "A Tu Salud Award for the Best Socio-Health Initiative" that is granted recognizing the impulse that expert nurses in ostomies are granting to their specialization, within the field of nursing and for its exemplary collaboration with the different health administrations, patients, hospitals and different health groups.
Silvia Vilar, nurse expert ostomy Hospital de Dénia and a member of the GCVCO has pointed out that this Award "is the recognition of the work that stomatherapist nurses have carried out for many years to strengthen the importance of consultations."

Consultations ostomy Valencia (GCVCO)
The GCVCO, consists of 20 nurses working in various hospitals in the Region. It was formed two years ago and promotes various projects of social awareness and value performances in collaboration with Colleges of Nursing, hospitals, patients and public administrations. Specifically, they are developing the first protocol ostomy patient care in collaboration with the Valencian Health Service.

Thanks to the work done by the institutional groups has helped to open more than 10 further consultations ostomy, 2 them in Valencia (Castellón General Hospital and General Hospital Universitario de Elche) in Spain.
