Time passes quickly, and almost without realizing it we have our eyes set on the next Christmas holidays that in a little more than a month will flood the streets of the city. And not only the streets, the Christmas It reaches practically every corner in Dénia and to all people, including the residents of Santa Lucía.
Every year, from the council of the eldest directed by Elisabet Cardona, Christmas craft workshops are organized in the residence and Day Center of Santa Llúcia and in the hospital of La Pedrera, coordinated from the Classrooms of the Third Age.
These workshops are possible thanks to the volunteering of many people who decide to devote part of their time to the elderly on such special dates, performing with them and their family manual jobs related to Christmas.
The result is satisfactory for both parties: volunteers provide knowledge of the welfare of the elderly, and provides them with leisure, entertainment, companionship and conversation.
From the council of the mayor encourage all people over 12 years to participate in this initiative the next 14 and 16 December, from 11 to 13 hours, at the residence of Santa Llúcia and December 15 day, from 17 to 19.30 hours at the LA Pedrera HACLE.
