Another year, and there are already six consecutive, Dénia prepares for celebration VI Marathon Blood Donation that will take place next Thursday 25 September in the Social Center of the city throughout the day.
This event, organized by the city of Denia and Alicante Trasnfusiones Center aims to replenish blood to meet the needs of hospitals in the province, since after the summer season are the limit.
Nursing Assistant Principal Transfusion Center of Alicante, Mª Teresa Garro, recalled that to give blood just weigh more than 50 kilos and have more than 18 years, and that a donation can save several lives.
The Mayor of Dénia, meanwhile, stressed that last year more than two hundred people attended the donation day, reaching valid extractions 180, 32 of which were new donors.
During the day of the marathon, thanks to the contributions of the sponsors, gifts will be raffled among the people who come to donate.
