Raquel Mengual has detailed that the "Sonafilm, Marina Alta Film Music Festival", the third edition of Sonafilm, will be held (if the conditions for the pandemic allow it), in the month of August 2021, and will feature events both in the town of Ondara as in Dénia. Festival trajectory

As the Ondara Councilor for Culture recalled, Sonafilm emerged when at the end of 2018, the Aljub Músic Association proposed to different towns in the Marina Alta the project of carrying out a film music festival with a symphony orchestra. Finally, Ondara decided to make this initiative a reality, and at the beginning of 2019 the first edition of this festival was announced, which took place on August 31 in the Plaza de Toros de Ondara, by the Universal Symphony Orchestra. The Sonafilm, Ondara Film Music Festival, achieved that night a resounding success with more than 90% of the seats sold (about 1800 tickets) and with an unbeatable criticism from the public and the press, which predicted a second edition . In 2020, the second edition of the Festival began to be defined, which unfortunately, at the beginning of March 2020, was paralyzed due to the pandemic. When the state of alarm ended in June 2020, Ondara drew up a protocol to be able to carry out cultural events safely in the Plaza de Toros, within the project "The jewel of culture. In this way, after having suspended the preparations for the 2nd edition of Sonafilm, a study was carried out to be able to celebrate the festival within the established regulations. Finally, Sonafilm 2020 was held on October 10 in the Ondara Bullring with the Universal Chamber Orchestra, and with a limited capacity of 450 people by regulations. At the end of this unusual second edition, marked by masks and social distance, that same month of October 2020 the radio program “Sonafilm Radio” was premiered, which is carried out weekly on 107.4FM Ràdio La Veu d'Ondara, to provide the Festival of more cultural content and bring the music of the seventh art and its composers to the public.
